The talented musician Byron Schenkman has a compelling series of concerts called BYRON SCHENKMAN & FRIENDS. (If you haven’t already subscribed, I highly recommend it!) I love featuring these concerts on this Beautiful Music blog because the performers are all so gifted, and the programs are so imaginative. Today’s Beautiful Music offering — a program called Baroque Basses: Beauty & Virtuosity — is from December 2021, and it features music by Antonio Vivaldi, George Frideric Handel, and Georg Philipp Telemann, as well as dance music from the court of Louis XIV. The performers are cellist & viol player Caroline Nicolas, theorbo player Kevin Payne, and harpsichordist Byron Schenkman.
