Beautiful Music in Difficult Times September 5

Bibi Black started studying trumpet at age 11, and only a few years later her hard work and talent earned her a spot at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree. By age 24, she won the Second Trumpet seat in the Philadelphia Orchestra, the first woman to ever hold that position. Bibi Black only made a few professional recordings as a soloist, and in the 1990s she retired from her career as a performer and went back to her hometown of Huntsville, Alabama. Today you can hear Beautiful Music by Haydn, Vivaldi, Hummel and Handel played with power and majesty by Bibi Black, and you can read an article about one of her projects.
