Rolf Lislevand is a masterful lutenist, his son Andre is a talented viola da gamba player, and Didier Francois is their outstanding collaborator on viola d’amore a chiavi (aka nyckelharpa) from a concert recording in 2018. You’ll want to listen to this at least twice — once while you look at them playing these gorgeous, exotic instruments, and again as you close your eyes and let the ethereal sound transport you to another place and time.
