Full disclosure: I’m a HUGE fan of Andre Watts. The pianist impressed me not only for his remarkable musical artistry but also for his kindness and graciousness in a memorable personal encounter many years ago. I took my parents — who were also big fans — to one of his recitals. Afterwards, we went back the green room to meet Mr. Watts. His mother (like my parents) was Hungarian, so they greeted and complimented him in Hungarian. With obvious delight, he responded in Hungarian and continued to chat with them.
