Beautiful Music in Difficult Times April 3

April is International Guitar Month, so today’s Beautiful Music features the outstanding talent of guitarist Xuefei Yang. The Beijing-born musician graduated of Beijing’s Central Conservatoire of Music, and received full scholarship for postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Her collaborations range from performing with some of the world’s great orchestras to playing chamber music with classical musicians such as Jian Wang, Ian Bostridge, Rosalind Plowright, Sir James Galway, Elias String Quartet & the Heath Quartet. Listening to her play her own transcription of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Prelude BWV846 gives me goosebumps. You can also hear her play three tunes by John Dowland from a 2015 concert recording. Xuefei Yang also gives a sneak peak at her recording, SKETCHES OF CHINA, released in August 2020, and shares a single from it, A LOVELY ROSE.
