On behalf of my friends here at Sunday Baroque, we send our love and good wishes! We also want you to know that we are all ok, and we are here for you. Sure, there have been many logistical changes in the way we approach our work, but we have mastered our new routines. All of us on the Sunday Baroque team are safe and healthy, and working hard to provide a fresh, new program for you every week, as always. Thanks to the extraordinary diligence of producer Julie Freddino and production assistant Jennifer Bashar, who have tag-teamed their efforts in our CD library, we are working ahead of schedule to make sure you will not have any disruption in hearing the program each week. And thanks to engineer Rick Andress — assisted by our engineering colleagues Dave Schermer and Josh Elstro — I have been able to continue using my usual recording studio. Please know that we are all practicing careful recommended distancing, scrupulous hand-washing, and diligent wipe-downs of surfaces. We take our work (and one another’s safety) very seriously.
Especially in stressful times, we humans need CONNECTION more than ever. Julie, Jennifer, Rick, Dave, Josh and I are motivated by the knowledge that we provide you with music that is uplifting and meaningful, and that we provide companionship, connection and entertainment when you need it most. I am also continuing my daily blog series, BEAUTIFUL MUSIC IN DIFFICULT TIMES, as a way to come together and highlight outstanding and interesting performances by marvelous musicians across the globe, many of whom have been adversely affected by our current circumstances. I will continue that series as long as it seems we need it, and I invite you to check it out.
