He also taught music, and the woman who is considered to be his last living student recently released a new recording. German organist and composer Johann Sebastian Bach was born in March of 1685, and every year Sunday Baroque throws a little birthday celebration for the composer. This year, for the first time, it’s a two-part celebration. This weekend is the first installment of the Bach Birthday Bash, and it includes performances by young musicians who love Bach, such as recorder player Lucie Horsch, flutist Brandon Patrick George, and the Catalyst Quartet. It’s the Bach Birthday Bash on Sunday Baroque this weekend.
