María Romero Ramos is a Venezuelan-born musician who plays both modern and baroque violin. She is an Assistant Professor of the Practice in Violin and Baroque Violin and Director of Historical Performance at Vanderbilt University Blair School of Music. Today’s Beautiful Music features Maria Romero Ramos in two roles: performing and teaching. She is one of the performers in a 2021 concert of the Open Gates series called THE DIVINE FEMININE, and she is host of a presentation (with Henry Lebedinsky) about composers of color and native-born South American composers from Brazil, Peru, Cuba, Mexico, Guatemala, and Bolivia from 1600 to 1800.
