Conductor André Raphel is a North Carolina who started music as an 11 year old. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Miami, and Master’s Degree at Yale University. He also earned a Diploma in conducting at The Curtis Institute of Music, and did further conducting studies at the Juilliard School. The talented musician has had a number of significant positions, including as Assistant Conductor to Kurt Masur at the New York Philharmonic, Assistant Conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Assistant Conductor of the Saint Louis Symphony, and a 15 year stint as Music Director of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra. He is currently on the faculty in the Music Department at The University of Connecticut.
