French musician Louise Farrenc was a composer, teacher, and virtuosa pianist who lived from 1804-1875. In 1842 she became a Professor at the Paris Conservatory, making her the first and only woman to hold that position throughout the 19th century. Today’s Beautiful Music is Louise Farrenc’s lovely ANDANTE played by violinist Esther Abrami with HER Ensemble.
