Australian musician Peggy Glanville-Hicks was a composer and music critic who lived from 1912-1990. She attended the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and the Royal College of Music, where she earned a coveted scholarship. Peggy Glanville-Hicks earned her reputation as a composer mainly writing operas. Today’s Beautiful Music is her 1953 orchestral work THREE GYMNOPEDIES FOR STRINGS, OBOE, HARP AND CELESTE.
