Recently, a Sunday Baroque listener emailed me with a question/observation about music he heard on the program. He heard a remarkable, similarity between Adam Falckenhagen’s Concerto IV in G and (wait for it) the Rolling Stones song “Lady Jane”! I decided to ask lutenist John Schneiderman, whose recording of the Falckenhagen had been played. Here is his reply: “Your listener is the first person to make the interesting observation about “Lady Jane”. I went to YouTube and listened, and they are correct! Hysterical!” So … today’s Beautiful Music is a side-by-side comparison, so you can see what YOU think!
