18th century English musician William Boyce was an organist, teacher, and composer whose circle of friends and colleagues included George Frideric Handel, Thomas Arne, Johann Sebastian Bach, and even a very young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Boyce composed his serenata SOLOMON in 1742. Today’s Beautiful Music is a performance of SOLOMON by soprano Mary Bevan and tenor James Gilchrist with the Orchestra and Choir of the Age of Enlightenment.
