Oswald Russell (1933-2012) was a Jamaican pianist and composer. He attended the Royal Academy of Music in London, then went to Paris to study for a couple of years, and eventually enrolled at The Juilliard School in New York City on full scholarship. Oswald Russell also won the prestigious Harriet Cohen International Music Award.
