In April 1723, Johann Sebastian Bach got the job as music director and cantor of St. Thomas church in Leipzig, Germany. He started the job on June 1 , and stayed in that job for the rest of his life. Today’s Beautiful Music is from Bach’s time there: the Inventions and Sinfonias. This is an historic recording featuring French pianist Marcelle Meyer, who lived from 1897-1958.
