September is National Piano Month, so today I’m offering some Beautiful Music by Johann Sebastian Bach played by pianist Sara Davis Buechner. These Three Minuets in G major by Bach, as arranged by Egon Petri, have such a graceful and serene quality. And in honor of National Piano Month, I hope it inspires you to sit down on the piano bench — again, or for the first time — and make some music yourself!
Dear Suzanne. Lovely program yesterday.
At the risk of being insolent – I’m wondering if you have heard of Vikingur Olafsson. There was a lovely article about him in the NYT several months ago, and I have bought both of his recordings, one all Bach and the other of absolutely ravishing music of Debussey and Rameau. He has been called the Icelandic Gould, and others have said, not since Gleen Gould, etc, etc. I’d love to hear from.
Marilyn
Dear Marilyn, Yes, I have! And you can hear some of his latest cd on the October 4 program!
