Beautiful Music in Difficult Times May 2

Jeanine de Bique’s talent is transcendent, and she gives a luscious performance with Concerto Koln of the aria RITORNA, OH CARO from George Frideric Handel’s 1719 opera RODELINDA. Not only can you enjoy this gorgeous presentation of Beautiful Music, the performers describe their approach to it. Use the links below to learn more about Jeanine de Bique and Concerto Koln.

Love Bach! Cannot stand the bass and baritone male voice in classical/baroque; sounds like a garbage dispose-all. Love Bach! Couldn’t find the link at sundaybaroque.org to the “5 remaining Stradivarius guitars” you mentioned, but googled and found “the one remaining playable Stradivarius Guitar” Love Bach. Prior to you saying it, Suzanne Bona, oops, Madison Johnston. I hadn’t known there were ANY Stradivarius guitars at all. Love Bach. It’s nice to hear context of the music, such as, “the valve trumpet had just been invented”after that Handel trumpet piece.

Love Bach. Wynton Marsalis! so cool and wise of him to learn all kinds of music for trumpet. Love Bach. Fischer-Diskau, ruiner of good music. Love Bach. I use the remote and switch to Hindi language station when my WRR 101.1 FM in Dallas emits gravel truck sounds. Love Bach. I don’t speak Hindi but they have good music. Love Bach idk why. Bach’s music becomes airborne even before the accidents come in. Love Bach. And then the accidentals come in and I forget what was I gonna do today.

Thanks for checking in. We all have our faves and our not-so-faves … I’m sure you’ll hear more Bach and will find it pleasing! 🙂

SB -Thanks so much for not pointing out my factual errors – yes, I had failed to notice your show had ended at 2:00 pm Dallas time – and the next show started with Handel trumpet. Always listened 7 – 11 am when visiting CA, and noon – 2pm here in Dallas – can’t say I always catch the 1st 1/2 of your wonderful show in TX, 5 to 7 am 😉

btw A lutenist named Mardikova and a guitarist named Polackova I really enjoy their playing. btw
Did you ever see Hilary Hahn’s interview on a Danish TV show? The host speaks English when he is talking to her. He is so disarmed byre aura that he does the hula hoop, and the 3 cameramen weep upon hearing her Bach; I don’t blame them. – BH
