Beautiful Music in Difficult Times March 29

Today’s Beautiful Music is provided by Emily Lau, an imaginative composer and singer, or as her bio states: “I am a maker of art and communities.” Emily Lau’s range of creative projects include, for example, employing historical instruments to play contemporary compositions, and reimagining Handel’s oratorio MESSIAH. Emily Lau is also founding artistic director of the eclectic chamber ensemble The Broken Consort, and the Artistic Director of Portland’s exciting and inclusive music community, Big Mouth Society. You can listen to Emily Lau’s ISLE OF MAJESTY, neo-baroque recorder quartet, the MESSIAH REIMAGINED project from 2018, and an article in Farrago.
