Beautiful Music in Difficult Times March 1

Johann Sebastian Bach’s music continues to be a touchstone for musicians. Composer Charles Gounod, who was born 68 years after Bach died, once said that, “Mozart is the most beautiful, Rossini the most brilliant, but Bach is the most comprehensive: he has said all there is to say.” Gounod used the Prelude #1 in C major from Bach’s WELL TEMPERED CLAVIER as the accompaniment for his setting of AVE MARIA. Today’s Beautiful Music is a shimmering performance of that musical mashup featuring the stunning artistry of soprano Omo Bello with the Orchestre Philharmonic de Radio France. There’s also a link to her website, because you WILL want to know more about the talented French-Nigerian musician.
