Beautiful Music in Difficult Times June 21

On this Father’s Day, I’m sharing Beautiful Music by one of the famous “stage dads” of classical music: Leopold Mozart. His son, Wolfgang Amadeus, was a precocious child prodigy, and Leopold did everything in his power to promote and exploit that talent. Leopold was a violinist and music teacher, including being the primary teacher of his son. Although Wolfgang was a Classical era composer, Leopold was born in 1719 — during the Baroque era (which went until c.1750) — and his life and career straddled the transitional period into the Classical era.
