Trumpeter Ryan Anthony was a phenomenal musician and had an impressive career as a musician. He was a member of Canadian Brass, was principal trumpeter in the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and performed in a variety of other ensembles. He was also known as an all-around good guy and an inspiration — someone who responded to his own cancer diagnosis and 8-year battle by establishing a foundation and event called Cancer Blows to raise money for cancer research and support for families. (see link below) Sadly, Ryan died on June 23, 2020 at age 51. Today’s Beautiful Music offering is a performance that shows off some of his virtuosity.

Fantastic tribute to a wonderful musician and human being. Thanks for sharing.
So amazing to hear (and see) him nail those high notes with such ease!
