English composer and organist John Stanley was born in London in 1712. As a toddler, he was blinded in an accident. The gifted organist and composer wrote a variety of compositions, including today’s Beautiful Music: a flute sonata played on traverso by Felipe Egaña with harpsichordist Sara Johnson.
