One of the defining aesthetics of the baroque was the customization of the music in each performance. Music was played on different instruments, embellished and ornamented by each performer, and crafted uniquely with each performance. So this solo flute arrangement by Salvatore Sciarrino of Johann Sebastian Bach’s famous organ Toccata and Fugue in d minor fits right in.
