Beautiful Music in Difficult Times February 8

Sheku Kanneh-Mason won the  2016 BBC Young Musician competition. But the English cellist became more widely known when he performed, at age 19, at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in May 2018. He is the third in a family of seven siblings who all play either violin, piano or cello. From a televised performance from three months before the royal wedding, this is Beautiful Music performed by Sheku Kanneh-Mason: the prelude from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Suite #1 for Unaccompanied Cello. There’s also a short feature about the young cellist visiting Sotheby’s to try out cellos once belonging to legendary cellist Mstislav Rostropovich.
