Wynton Marsalis is a consummate musician, with a seemingly infinite list of talents and interests. The trumpet player has been nominated for Grammy Awards 14 times, and 11 of those were wins. He’s also an EMMY nominee, and he won a Pulitzer Prize for his composition, BLOOD ON THE FIELDS. (there’s a link to some of it, below) Wynton Marsalis is from an exceptionally talented musical family. (His brother Branford, the saxophone player, was featured yesterday on this blog.) He is managing and artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center. These are several performances of Beautiful Music by Wynton Marsalis — baroque, jazz, and the beloved Amazing Grace.
