Today’s Beautiful Music is provided by the talented and versatile musician Jonathan Woody. The bass-baritone’s musical passions range from baroque and early music to contemporary music. He has performed music by Bach, Handel and others with groups including Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, Bach Collegium San Diego, Portland Baroque Orchestra and Apollo’s Fire. Jonathan Woody has also premiered several works, including Ted Hearne’s The Source (2014), a seminal work on the subject of Pvt. Chelsea Manning. This is Jonathan Woody singing Johann Sebastian Bach’s cantata ICH HABE GENUG BWV82 with Brooklyn Baroque & Friends. And since Jonathan Woody is also a composer, you can hear one of his compositions — CHACONNE. It’s the premiere performance by Margot Rood, with an introduction by the composer himself!
