Beautiful Music in Difficult Times February 10

Mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves has performed in the world’s great opera houses and concert halls, and with the world’s great orchestras. Her supple and versatile artistry has also graced occasions such as the 2007 funeral of President Gerald Ford and the 2020 memorial service for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. You can see those performances below, as well as her Beautiful Music performance of the aria PENNA TIRANNA from George Frideric Handel’s opera AMADIGI DI GAULA. You can also read her bio for Peabody Institute, where she is on the faculty, as well as a lovely feature article from 2012 about her career inspiration.
