Beautiful Music in Difficult Times December 9

When I interview musicians, I almost always ask them about their early introduction to music — what instrument they first learned, at what age, and how & when they knew that music is their life’s work. And almost always, the best musicians report being smitten with music from early childhood. Some were so young that they don’t even remember a time when music wasn’t in their life. Flutist Adrienne Davis recalls being, ” … a toddler crawling around her mother’s feet as she practiced Beethoven” on the piano. Ms. Davis eventually began playing flute, and she has a remarkable international career. In that same spirit of parents introducing their children to Beautiful Music, this is flutist Adrienne Davis playing music by Johann Sebastian Bach’s son, Carl Philipp Emanuel.
