Beautiful Music in Difficult Times April 29

Rafael Sánchez Guevara plays cello and viola da gamba, and is an expert in historical performance practices. The Mexico City-born musician earned his Bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where he returned to teach viola gamba. He also earned his Master’s degree in viola da gamba from the Université de Montréal. Rafael Sánchez Guevara performs with Canada’s Les Voix Humaines ensemble and the Mexican early music group La Fontegara. You can hear him play Beautiful Music including a mesmerizing performance of the Arpeggiata by Carl Friedrich Abel, and a live concert performance of a Trio Sonata by George Frideric Handel with his colleagues in La Fontegara.
