Saint Cecilia was the patroness of music and musicians. Her Feast Day is celebrated on November 22nd, and many composers wrote music in her honor. John Blow composed his ode Begin the Song! in 1684 and George Frideric Handel wrote his SONG FOR SAINT CECILIA’S DAY IN 1739.
