Heinrich Biber composed 15 Sonatas on the Mysteries of the Rosary. They are all-instrumental settings of Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious mysteries based on rosary prayers. They debuted at the Salzburg Cathedral, and the occasion was such a big deal that Biber’s musical score was adorned with engravings of the 15 Rosary Mysteries.
